In 2000, Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket launched a massive renovation and expansion project with a budget of $149 million. The expansion includes a six-storey parking garage, a medical arts building, and a regional cancer centre. Entro prepared a wayfinding strategy and designed a new signage program intended to grow and change throughout the ongoing renovations.

Entro worked closely with the foundation to create a donor recognition system that would integrate with the new architectural environment. Entro used the exterior walls of the Hospital’s new Chapel, a soaring 3-storey “tower of light ” designed by Parkin Architects, as the canvas for the donor recognition.

The translucency of the panels creates an etched glass effect that does not detract from the airy architectural intent of the Chapel. The Circle of Hope was selected as a Judges’ Pick award in RGD’s Design at Work 08.
