A new 32-storey, Class AAA tower is currently under construction in downtown Vancouver. Hines and Reliance Properties have partnered to develop 1166 West Pender, the first office building in Vancouver to incorporate new health, safety, and wellness initiatives into the building architecture, in response to COVID-19.
That tenant health and experience is top priority is evident in the building’s design and amenities. The third floor houses an indoor and outdoor amenity space, including an employee lounge and collaboration area, a conference facility, a fitness and wellness centre, and end-of-trip facilities. Architecturally distinctive, the tower’s top ten levels feature private outdoor terraces. Below grade, underground parking supports employee wellness by offering more bike stalls than parking stalls.
Entro is creating a signage and wayfinding program that welcomes all users and promotes wellness, safety, and accessibility throughout the base-building and underground parking areas.
1166 West Pender is targeting LEED, WELL, WiredScore, SmartScore, and Rick Hansen Accessibility certifications. Find out more about the project here.
