A burst of new energy has landed on Roosevelt Island, with the opening of the new NYC Ferry port and arrival of the new Cornell Tech campus. Once a sleepy, well-kept secret, this Manhattan island—with its lovely riverside walks and unobstructed skyline views—has been discovered by new visitors and residents alike. Wayfinding is essential to help these newcomers navigate the island.

For this comprehensive, multi-phased project, we’ve created a simple three-part solution: directional finger signs, curved map kiosks, and placemaking writ large: a signature red monumental logo announcing arrival, that brings together the whole system.
